D.A.R. Members with Henry County Ties

Source: Extracted from the Lineage Books of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution

Submitted by Susie Martin Rott

This set of over 130 books are available in many public libraries throughout the country. With no disrespect to the D.A.R., it is advised that you use their information, submitted by individuals to meet membership criteria, only as a guideline of information to be verified through other sources. Particularly in the earlier days of the D.A.R., some information was not very well documented and many errors in the submittals do exist.

In more recent times, the D.A.R. has required more thorough documentation and evidence to substantiate claims of Revolutionary War soldier lineage. To check for corrected or additional data, you may also want to write the DAR at:

Office of the Registrar General
NSDAR, 1776 D Street, N.W.
Washington, DC 20006-5392

As I have been browsing the volumes held in two different libraries in two different cities, neither of which holds a complete set, the listings are organized only by DAR number. Some individuals may have been overlooked or in volumes not yet searched or not available. Many entries say only "born in Illinois" thus it cannot be determined if any of these are also from Henry County.

Some entries will refer to other entries within the books which contain more information on the lineage. I did not have time to look up every item referenced so you may wish to consult your local librarian if you need to refer to one of the additional entries and it does not appear here. If I did manage to pick up a referenced item, they are linked within this document.

Publication dates vary per volume, but all were published by the NSDAR in Washington, D.C.
