Obituaries & Death Notices Isaac G. Daly, 86, of 290 Woodstock st., Crystal Lake, died Friday at the Villa Nursing Home following a lingering illness. He was born April 8, 1876, in Annawan, Ill., the son of Thomas and Mathilda Means Daly. Formerly in the trucking business he retired some 15 years ago and moved from Chicago to Crystal Lake. Survivors include the widow, Lura Smith Daly, to whom he was married Sept. 16, 1903; one daughter, Doris, at home; and one brother, George of Newton, Ia. For over 30 years he was a member of the Traffic Club of Chicago, and he was a past high priest of Royal Arch Masons. Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Querhammer Funeral Home, the Rev. Stanley Schmidt of the First Congregational church officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery. Source not given Contributed by Gail Dreher Mrs. Clarissa Satterlee Davis died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clara Crain, just west of Geneseo, at 3:45 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8, 1901, aged 80 years, 5 months and 2 days. Clarissa Satterlee comes of an old and honored English family. She was born at Newport, N.Y., June 5, 1821, and married Nathaniel Davis at Newport in 1842. They came to Geneseo in 1871. Her husband died 8 years ago last June, and she has lived with her daughter ever since. There are two children, Mrs. Clara Crain, of Geneseo, and Thomas Davis, of Grinnell, Ia. The latter has been confined to his bed two years with creeping paralysis. To these are extended the warm sympathies of many friends. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Congregational church. The funeral was held at the church on Monday, Rev. Millard officiating. A sweet and thoughtful token upon her bier were 80 roses, representing her age, from Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Hoit. O.D. Kinney, a cousin and noted lawyer of Duluth, was with Mrs. Davis in her last moments. She was a sweet, lovable lady, whose thoughts and deeds were conceived in kindness. After ascended to the topmost round of the Ladder of Life, she stept into her rest." DeBord, 80, a Kewanee Boiler Co. retiree living at 201 Washington Apartments, died early today, April 9, in Kewanee Public Hosptial. He was born Aug. 25, 1899 in Sneedsville, Tenn. The son of William and LaVerne DeBord. He was reared and educated in Teneesee. He married Leoni Shorb on March 6, 1921 in Range, Okla. The Debords moved to Kewanee in 1923. Mrs. DeBord died in 1972. DeBord married Alice Dunlap on Feb. 4, 1977 in Kewanee. She survives, with two daughters. Mrs. Walter (Ida) Hadsall and Mrs. Clarence (Irene) Jones, both of Kewanee, a son, Harold of Emden: 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters, and a daughter. DeBord was employed by Kewanee Boiler Co. for 25 years prior to retirement. He had grown steadily worse during the last two weeks. He was 70 years old. Mr. DeBord ws born in Sneedville, Tenn., Feb. 20 1858. He came to Kewanee from Oklahoma where he had been following the occupation of a farmer. He has not lived in Kewanee very long. For the past four years, however, he has made his home here. He was a member of the Baptist church. His wife and eight children, two daughters and six sons survive him. Three children have preceded him in death. Those surviving are: Mrs. Jane Mahon, Big Stone Gap, VA; and James DeBord of the same place; Jess, of Newport, Tenn., and Henry, Homer and Flem of Kewanee. Mr. DeBord also has two brothers living, Charles in Ottumwa, Ia., and Tom in Knoxville, Tenn., as well as a sister, Mrs. Eliza Sothern of Bull's Gap, Va. Anderson at Lovelock, Nevada, Saturday, February 8 at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 2 days. Lydia L. Flansburg, third daughter of William and Mary Follett Flansburg was born at Dunkirk, Chautauqua county, New York, April 6, 1851 and moved with her parents at the age of four years to Galva, Knox County, then Henry Co, Illinois, where she grew to womanhood. On October 1, 1871 she was united in marriage to Charles H. Decker and to this union nine children were born, three of whom died in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death November 24, 1916. She leaves to mourn her departure her children, Charles O. Decker and Alice L Roberts of Washington; Frank J Decker of Valbrand, Saskatchewan, Canada, Eva M. Long of Springdale, Arkansas, Mary A. Anderson and Oscar L. Decker of Lovelock, Nevada; twenty-four grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. W. H. Emery of Washington, Kansas. At the age of eighteen she united with the Baptist church but later joined the Christian church and has been a faithful member the past forty-one years. In 1885 she came to Washington county with her husband and family, where for thirty-seven years she resided on a farm near Hollenberg. In 1922 she moved to Plattsmouth, Nebr., and for the past three years she has been with her daughter, Mrs. P. H. Anderson at Lovelock, Nevada. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother , always ready to help in sickness and trouble. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. The funeral service was held Saturday afternoon, February 15 at two o'clock in the Christian church in this city with George M. Caughran of Morrowville officiating. Born Aug. 6, 1902, in Kewanee to Levi and Minnie Brazee Huffman, she married Albert DeSkeere in 1965. He died in 1979. She also was preceded in death by one son, William E. Otis in 1944, three brothers and three sisters. Surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Albert (Mariellen) Davis of Kewanee and Barbara Steele of Taylor Ridge; one stepson, David DeSkeere of Richland Hills, Texas; one grandson; three reat-grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and 21 stepgreat-grandchildren. She worked at many area restaurants and also worked at the cab company, Peoples Cleaners and the Walworth Co., retiring in 1965. She was a member of First Christian Church. She was united in marriage to Samuel Drain in 1851. The union was blessed by eleven children, six sons and five daughters. They came to the United States in 1851, locating near Philadelphia, Pa., afterward moved to Henry Co., Illinois. In 1886 the family moved to Ruskin, Nuckolls Co., Nebraska where they lived happily until two years ago when Father Samuel Drain was called to rest. Mother Drain made her home with her son Hugh until about three weeks before her death she went to visit her daughter, Mrs. Clabaugh, and there died. Mrs. Drain in early life united with the Presbyterian church. She leaves to mourn her departure four sons and four daughters, two sons and one daughter having preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. McVey in the Presbyterian church, after which her body was laid to rest by the side of her husband in the cemetery south of Ruskin. The family extend their thanks to the kind friends and neighbors for their words and deeds during the sickness and death. Mrs. Dupree was born in Atkinson and had spent most of her life in and near here. Her husband preceded her in death many years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Butterfield of Chicago and Mrs. Minnie Parr of Wendell, Idaho; two sons, Harry of Atkinson and Walter of Geneseo, and four sisters, Mesdames Lottie Steiner and Mabel Fulton, both of Atkinson, Ollie Tomlinson of Geneseo and Anna Cuniff of Rock Falls, Ill. Mrs. Dupree of Atkinson Taken She Lived Entire Life in This Community; Four Children Are Survivors Atkinson, July 26 (1940) -- Mrs. Dora Dupree, 75, widow of a former railroad section foreman and a life resident of this community, died this morning in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nellie Butterfield in Chicago. Funeral services are being planned today and it is expected that they will be held in Atkinson. Mrs. Dupree was born in Atkinson and was reared in this community. Her husband was killed in an accident on the railroad several years ago. She is survived by four children, Minnie Parr of Wendell, Id., Nellie Butterfield of Chicago, Harry Dupree of Atkinson and Walter Dupree of Geneseo. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Lottie Steiner and Mrs. Mabel Fulton of Atkinson, Mrs. Olle Tomlinson of Geneseo and Mrs. Anna Cuniss (should be Cuniff) of Rock Falls. Contributed by Sue Williams Mr. Geo. W. Dupree, a former resident in this vicinity and well known to our people, met with a fatal accident at Joliet Monday evening, June 21. While occupied in his duties as a brakeman on the Rock Island R.R., Mr. Dupree lost his life. It is supposed that in adjusting the couplings of the cars of a freight train, he lost his balance and fell beneath them. Several cars passed over him, cutting him in two and otherwise mangling his body. He was brought to Atkinson for burial. The funeral services were held in the Cong'l church and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. B. Johnston. A large number of sympathizing friends attended the service and followed the corpse to Grandview cemetery, the place of burial, among whom were relatives and friends from Blue Island. Mr. Dupree was born in Norwich, Chenango county, New York, May 4, 1862. He was married thirteen years ago to Dora Yarger, the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Hugh Yarger of Atkinson. For some years they lived in the vicinity of Atkinson. About two years since they removed to Blue Island which was their home at the time of Mr. Dupree's death. Among the friends of Mr. Dupree remaining to mourn his loss are his widow, Mrs. Dora Dupree, his four children, three sisters, and his aged father, Henry F. Dupree. Mr. Dupree senior, is about 85 years of age. He has made his home with his son and will feel the loss deeply. He is an aged veteran of the revolution of 1848 in Germany. The loss of Mr. Dupree in the prime of his life is a great blow to his wife and little ones. The social family circle bound together by love is apparently broken. But the husband and father still lives in the heart's affection of wife, children, father and sisters. June 21, 1897] BELIEVE HEART ATTACK LED TO MISHAP, DEATH ATKINSON -- A 69-year-old Geneseo man, George Walter Dupree, was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-car mishap on Williams St. here last night, apparently as the result of a heart attack. Henry County Coroner Ralph Cole of Kewanee said no inquest is planned. Dupree, who had resided at 118 North Vale in Geneseo, was en route to the home of a sister, Mrs. Nellie Kruger here, when he apparently was stricken. The auto, westbound on Williams St., veered off the road and struck a utility pole. The pole was broken in two upon impact. The mishap occurred within three houses of the Kruger residence, where Mrs. Dupree was visiting while her husband was attending a meeting of the Atkinson Masonic Lodge. Mr. And Mrs. Don Enyeart, who reside in the neighborhood of the Kruger home, and Ralph Buysse were the first to reach the scene. They immediately called for a local physician and the local fire department resuscitator. Dupree was pronounced dead by the physician, however, before the resuscitator could be used. Mrs. Dupree first learned of her husband's death when she and Mrs. Kruger, noticing the flashing light from the fire truck, walked the short distance to the scene to find out what had happened. Services Friday Services for Mr. Dupree will be at 1:30 Friday afternoon in the Wright Funeral Home here with the Rev. Robert L. Frank, pastor of the Atkinson Congregational Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Reynolds Cemetery. Masonic services are planned at 8 tomorrow night at the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow afternoon and evening. Mr. Dupree was born in Blue Island, the son of George William and Dora Yager (should be Yarger) Dupree. He married the former Mary Burns, April 2, 1927, in Rock Island. He was a retired clerk of the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad. Surviving are the following children; Samuel, Arthur of Idaho, Clarence Elmer of Eldon, Ia; Martin Ulysses and Mrs. G. L. Zirkle, both of Muscatine, Mrs. T.C. Hanson of Marengo, Ia, and James K.
