ISAACSON, Amanda Caroline Bylander
Alpha--Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Caroline Isaacson, 89, will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the First
and Puckett funeral Home in Galesburg, with the Rev. Henry Lundblad of the Woodhull Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Friends may call this evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Isaacson died Sunday at 10:10 a.m. here in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glenn Anderson, where she resided
the last 13 years. She had been ill three weeks.
The former Amanda Caroline Bylander, Mrs. Isaacson was born April 26, 1866, in Smoland, Sweden, and came to the
United States with her parents when she was 2. The family settled in the Andover area, where Mrs. Isaacson was
reared and educated. She was confirmed in the Andover Lutheran church in 1883.
She was married to John A. Isaacson Oct. 20, 1886 at the Andover Lutheran Church and the couple resided in
Bureau, Henry and Knox counties for different periods of time. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct.
20, 1935. He preceded Mrs. Isaacson in death Sept. 23, 1941.
Besides the daughter in Alpha, she is survived by the following other children: Mrs. Maude Ossian, Opheim; Jay
Winfield Isaacson, Chillicothe; Mrs. Mildred Bowling, Ephrata, Pa.; Sidney Isaacson, Los Angeles, Calif.; Leroy
Isaacson, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Mabel Lindbeck and Carl Isaacson, of Galesburg. She also leaves 23
grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. A son, Jule, also preceded her in death.

ISAACSON, Kajsa G.
Kajsa G., widow of the late Johanes Isaacson was born in Chrisdala parish, Smaland, Sweden, January 25th, 1822,
and in 1854 emigrated and arrived in Andover. Shortly thereafter she was married to the above named husband and
they settled on section 21, where they resided until 1881, when the faithful husband passed away in death. Three
children were born to them, who survive their mother. They are Lena, widow of the late Frank Anderson of Aledo;
Nellie, wife of Eric Norell of Andover, and John A. Isacson of Woodhull. Nineteen grandchildren and five great
grandchildren mourn her.
Mother Isaacson passed peacefully away at the home of her daughter Mrs. Eric Norell, Thursday, June 30th, 1910
at the age of 88 years, 5 months, and 5 days. She has been most tenderly cared for the late years at this
daughter's home. She was a true Christian woman and died as a child of the Lord to eternal life.
The funeral was held from the residence and Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon. A large assemblage of neighbors
and pioneers paid their last tribute of Christian love to the departed and to the bereaved families.
Mrs. Edwin Ossian of Opheim sang several inspiring solos at the church and grave. Rev. C.P. . Edbloom conducted
the obsequies and officiated. Pallbearers were J.A. Charlson, Aaron Charlson, A. Sandberg, J.G.A, . Gustaffson,
J.P. Danielson and J.A. Johnson. A foster son Frank O. Isaacson of Woodhull, is an affectionate mourner and has
memories of the most kind and cheerful home and motherly cares.
