Obituaries and Death Notices FALL ON ICE IS FATAL TO WOMAN, 75 Matilda Yarger, Formerly of Atkinson, Dies Thursday Matilda Angeline Yarger, 75, died in St. Francis hospital Thursday evening. She suffered a fracture of the left hip in a fall on the ice at her home on Dec. 3. Coroner J. O. Stephenson conducted inquiry this morning, finding death resulted from hypostatic pneumonia due to a fractured femur. Matilda Yarger was born Aug. 7, 1862, in Henry county on a farm near Atkinson, the daughter of James and Peninah Yarger. She resided in this county and in Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri, living in Kewanee for the past three years. She had been making her home with an uncle, W. S. Lewis, 201 Goodrich street. She was married to William Murry who preceded her in death, and later was married to William Kisor from whom she was divorced. Surviving are the son, John Murry of Wheaton, an adopted son, Raymond Lewis of Kewanee, a twin sister, Mrs. Adela Perschbacher of Oklahoma, and another sister, Mrs. Cynthia Kirkendall of (Smith Center) Kansas, and other relatives. The parents, three brothers and five sisters preceded her in death. Funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon in Erickson and McHugh funeral home. Interment will be in Liberty cemetery, northwest of Kewanee. Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 and 9 tonight. Mr. Yarger was born in Atkinson Sept. 28, 1867. On March 12, 1890, he married Miss Belle Schreck. Survivors include the widow; one daughter and three sons, six sisters, Mrs. Dora Dupree, Mrs. Mary J. Steele, Mrs. Lottie Steiner, and Mrs. Mabel Fulton of Atkinson, Mrs. Ollie Tomlinson of Geneseo and Mrs. Anna Cunnif, Tampico. NOE YAGER (sic) SERVICES IS CONDUCTED IN KEWANEE Atkinson, June 11 – Funeral services for Noe Yager former Atkinson resident, were held Tuesday afternoon in Kewanee. Yotter, 85, died Friday, Aug 16, 1991, at the Lone Tree Care Center following an extended illness. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 at the West Liberty Chapel of the Barker Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Thompson will officiate. Burial will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call this afternoon and evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Yotter was born March 29, 1906, at Kewanee, Ill., a daughter of Thomas and Alice Woodward Martin. On Dec. 19, 1931 she was married at Kahoka, Mo. to Glen E. Yotter. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Edith) Stagg, of West Liberty, and Wanda June Hamilton, of RIpley, Calif; one son, Glen R. Yotter, of Canyon Country, Calif; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Harold of Muscatine, William of Grandview, Arthur of North Liberty and Thomas of Ainsworth; and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Elizabeth) Keef of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and four brothers.
